A detailed scan of the baby's heart, offered where the routine anomaly scan raised a question, where there is heart disease in the family, or where diabetes or certain medicines make it worth a closer look.
Why it is done
Heart differences are among the more common findings in pregnancy and among the most important to know about in advance. Knowing before birth means the delivery can be planned in the right place, with the right people there.
Most of these scans find a normal heart.
If something is found
You are told the same day, in person, with what it means and what happens next. Where specialist newborn cardiac care will be needed, we arrange the referral and help plan where the birth should happen — early, not at the last minute.
What it costs
| Item | Cost | Notes |
