After a pregnancy loss, investigation can sometimes explain what happened and what it means for a future pregnancy. It is entirely your decision whether to have it, and there is no right answer.
What it can and cannot answer
Sometimes a clear cause is found and it changes what we would do next time. Sometimes no cause is found, which is itself information, though rarely the information anyone wants.
We will be honest about the chance of getting an answer before you decide, rather than afterwards.
Taking your time
This decision does not have to be made immediately and it does not have to be made alone. Whatever you decide, you will be offered a follow-up appointment to go through what is known and what it means for the future.
