Surgery on the fallopian tubes — to open a blockage, to remove damaged tube, or to reverse a previous sterilisation. Whether it is worth doing depends heavily on your age, on the state of the tubes, and on what else the evaluation found.
Surgery or IVF — the real question
This is the decision that matters and it is genuinely finely balanced in some situations. Tubal repair can offer the chance of conceiving naturally over the following months, while IVF bypasses the tubes entirely.
Age is usually the deciding factor: surgery buys a period of trying, and that period is worth more at thirty than at forty. Severely damaged tubes are also sometimes better removed than repaired, because they can reduce the chance of IVF working.
We will set out both routes with realistic timelines and costs. We would rather you chose well than chose what we happen to offer.
What it costs
| Item | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tubal surgery | ₹20,000–50,000 | Depends on what is found and what can be repaired. Written estimate first. |
Charges at Pearl Women's Super Speciality Hospital and IVF/ICSI Center as of September 2026. You are told what anything costs before it is done, and nothing is billed that you have not agreed to.
Questions we are asked most
Is reversal of sterilisation possible?
Sometimes, depending on how the sterilisation was done and how much healthy tube remains. It needs an assessment first, and we will be honest about whether it is worth attempting in your case.
Should I have surgery or go straight to IVF?
It depends on your age, the state of the tubes and what else was found in the evaluation. We will go through both with realistic numbers and let you decide.
