Spare embryos from an IVF cycle, or eggs frozen before treatment that may affect fertility, are stored by vitrification — very rapid freezing that avoids ice crystals forming. Stored material does not deteriorate with time in the way people often expect.
What storage means in practice
Storage is billed annually and you can stop at any time. We write to you before each renewal; nothing is quietly renewed without you knowing. You decide what happens to stored embryos, and that decision is recorded in writing and can be changed.
A frozen embryo transfer is a much lighter cycle than a fresh one: no stimulation injections, no egg collection, usually two or three short visits.
What it costs
| Item | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Storage, per year | ₹15,000/yr | Spare embryos from an IVF cycle at Pearl are frozen at no extra charge. |
| First frozen embryo transfer | Included | Included, from embryos frozen in your Pearl cycle. |
| Each further transfer | ₹40,000 | No stimulation and no egg collection — a much lighter cycle. |
Charges at Pearl Women's Super Speciality Hospital and IVF/ICSI Center as of September 2026. You are told what anything costs before it is done, and nothing is billed that you have not agreed to.
Questions we are asked most
How long can embryos be stored?
Storage is governed by the ART (Regulation) Act, 2021 and the consent you sign. We go through both with you and give you a copy.
What if we decide we do not want them?
You tell us, in writing, and we act on it. You can change your mind at any point before that. Nobody will pressure you either way.
